How our Burnished Brass is Made
Like many of our existing finishes, our Burnished Brass is forged from a solid brass base, which gives these products incredible strength and durability. Once shaped, they undergo an accelerated ageing process which causes them to develop a dark patina across their surface.
The unique burnished appearance is created during the next stage of manufacturing, when the products are placed into barrelling machines. Following this, each piece of Burnished Brass hardware is coated in a high-quality, clear matt lacquer which protects the finish, ensuring its longevity for years to come.

How to Care for Burnished Brass
Burnished Brass is a hardy finish, but there are several steps you can take to keep it looking its best. We advise against using any harsh chemicals or cleaning products on our Burnished Brass finish as they may damage the lacquer. Instead, we recommend regularly cleaning your hardware with a clean microfibre cloth and a wax-based furniture polish – our Maintenance Wax works wonderfully for this purpose.
As with all our finishes, regular oiling of any moving parts with our 3-in-1 Oil will help prolong the lifespan of your products, ensuring all components operate smoothly.
How to Style Burnished Brass
Burnished Brass brings quiet luxury to interiors. It offers warmth without dominating a space, instead enhancing its surroundings.
Due to its warm undertones, Burnished Brass complements earthy shades such as brown, green, and grey. The unique texture of this finish accentuates materials such as stone and wood. Burnished Brass and walnut are a wonderful combination, accentuating the dark grain of the wood and the fine details of the brass. Complete the look by adding contrasting furnishings like velvet cushions or woven blankets.

Alternatively, Burnished Brass can be used in more neutral interiors, where soft shades of white will draw focus to your hardware. Pale green and cream are also great options here.
