3 Ways to Use Matt Black in Your Home

We’ve put together three different interior schemes that utilise our brand-new Matt Black finish.

Our sleek Matt Black has a distinct contemporary feel. Naturally, it looks great in ultra-modern interiors, but this versatile finish is timeless and will create a sophisticated statement in traditional or more rustic settings too.

Black is famously versatile and can be paired with a plethora of paint colours. Our Matt Black creates a brilliant contrast with soft pinks or light greys or will blend effortlessly into darker interiors. This finish also works well against raw timber and will complement other natural materials such as marble in a kitchen or bathroom interior.

1.) Clean Contrast

This scheme is simple, fresh and dynamic and our Matt Black products give this look its contemporary edge. Choose a clean, cool light grey as the base colour and introduce layers of contrasting colour. Play with different shades of deep bluey green and pink. We have paired Farrow & Ball’s Inchyra Blue with Pink Ground or Little Greene’s Light Peach Blossom.

2.) Brave & Bold

This daring look has been put together for a contemporary space. Here we have chosen black as the primary colour - use it for walls, woodwork, cabinetry and of course ironmongery. Complete the scheme with a burst of bold, vibrant orange (we chose Little Greene’s Marigold) and materials such as concrete and bright white marble.

3.) Contemporary Pastels

Our final scheme is subtle and calming and takes inspiration from the sea and sky. Choose a pale, pastel pink or subtle aquamarine as the base colour and introduce touches of contemporary Matt Black using ironmongery. This look works well in a kitchen/living space where the walls, doors and woodwork would be painted in a pastel shade and the kitchen cabinets and ironmongery would provide a Matt Black contrast.
