Sink Inspiration

Sink Inspiration

As one of the most frequently used rooms in our home, the bathroom needs to be a space that’s visually inspiring as well as practical. That’s why it’s important to consider each aspect of the design; everything and the bathroom sink, so to speak.

While often overlooked as a design element, the sink is an integral part of any bathroom, but that doesn’t mean it can’t add aesthetic value. Sinks are a great way to experiment with your style and add interest. For example, you can use a metal sink to add an air of lavishness to your lavatory and bring an organic feel to the room.

Here is our brand-new collection of metal sinks to inspire you…

Nickel Sinks

Smooth Nickel is a wonderful alternative to standard Polished Chrome. It has subtle yellow undertones that offer a warmer feel which works well in intimate spaces like bathrooms. Nickel looks great against muted and bold colours alike and is especially striking against pale pinks and navy blues. Our Smooth Nickel sinks have bright reflective qualities which glisten in the light and are enhanced when paired with matching ironmongery like our Polished Nickel Avon Lever Bathroom Set. For a less traditional approach, try our Hammered Nickel collection which has a dramatic, textured interior. This is formed by our talented Blacksmiths who create each individual hammer mark by hand.

Copper Sinks

Copper is an increasingly popular choice in bathrooms, offering a more lavish alternative to steel. Its brassy undertones give a true sense of grandeur. For a classic look, pair this sink with matching Copper taps, or for a more contemporary feel opt for subtle Matt Black faucets. Copper sinks look incredibly sleek when partnered with smooth marble or black quartz but also has a place in rustic interiors like farmhouses when used alongside natural wood and white cabinetry.

The shape of your sink is another key consideration. Oval sinks are the most popular choice as they’re ergonomic and easy to clean, but they can also elevate your interior when chosen in luxury metals like copper, nickel and brass. Oval sinks can be used to breathe life into a bathroom, adding a warm and inviting feel. Round basins are another fabulous alternative, with gentle curves and a sense of symmetry which softens any space. Our Round sinks are both narrower and deeper than their Oval counterparts, helping save precious surface area.

Brass Sinks

For centuries Brass has remained a firm favourite in the home – and for good reason! Not only is it mesmerizingly beautiful but it’s also surprisingly hardwearing and has a great depth of reflection that shimmers in the light. Our Smooth and Hammered Brass sinks work well with painted finishes, complementing dark, rich colours, and deep, earthy tones. We love how this finish is accentuated by shades like emerald green and cyan, lending itself well to natural materials like marble.

Interior Design Tips

When planning your room, whether it a bathroom, kitchen or utility space, it’s important to choose a sink that complements your style. A great interior design tip is to coordinate your sink with your lighting. If you have a Smooth Copper sink, you can pair it with one of our Smooth Copper pendant lights. Equally, if you have a Hammered Copper sink, you can match it to one of our Hammered Copper pendant lights. With our bespoke services, you can even have the exterior surface of your pendant light hand-painted in a custom colour of your choosing to complement your space. Our Round sinks are perfectly symmetrical and lend themselves well to our large Harborne pendants, whereas our Oval sinks are more streamlined with an elliptical shape which suits our Hockley and Brindley pendants.

Many people coordinate their taps to their sinks, but we recommend matching your taps to your ironmongery instead. This way, the hardware blends seamlessly throughout the space, drawing the eye directly to the sink itself. For example, our Nickel sinks are highlighted particularly well by our Polished Nickel door hardware due to their warm undertones and mesmerising shine. Our Hammered Nickel Oval sinks are an obvious choice as the intricate textural detailing of the bowl tastefully twinkles, casting flecks of light around the room.
